The great pacific garbage patch

Today we were learning about the great pacific garbage patch.
The great pacific garbage patch.

Around 8 million tons of plastic end’s up in the ocean every year.
That’s bad because the sea animals that eat it will die and then
We will eat those sea animals and we will eat the plastic too and
We could die. Most of the plastic in our ocean finds its way to
Garbage patches all around the world. Most of it ends up in the
Biggest garbage patch known as the great pacific garbage patch.
The great pacific garbage patch has around 1.8 trillion pieces
Of garbage end’s up in the great pacific garbage patch. The patch
Is actually just getting bigger. It’s  been getting bigger for around the
 last 70 years. Ones the plastic is there it will stick around for
years.

I was surprised to learn that the rubbish stays around for so long. Perhaps your post could have had more impact if you added some pictures. I'm interested to know where you found your information. What do you think we could do to get rid of the rubbish in our oceans?
