Secretary

The Secretary is found in African grasslands and savannas.

Its scientific name is Sagittarius serpentarius.

The Secretary is a carnivore and eats Rodents, Grasshoppers, large insects, and small mammals such as frogs, lizards, and tortoises.

The Secretary is a big bird and lives for 10 to 15 years.

It is 3.9 feet tall and weighs 5 to 9.4 pounds.

The Secretary lays one to three pale green eggs.

Eggs hatch in the order they were laid.

Parents feed the youngest first as they are a target to predators.

Babies eat regurgitated and liquefied insects and other small prey.

The nest is built by both sexes at the top of a dense thorny tree

At a height of between 2.5 to 13 meters above the ground.

They mate on the ground or in trees.

Nest often built in Africa as they live there.

Pygmy seahorses

There are seven different species of Pygmy seahorses in the world.

Pygmy seahorses are 2cm in size, being one of the smallest types.

Their scientific name is Hippocampus bargibanti.

They can be found in the Indo-west pacific ocean.

Pygmy seahorses are very good at camouflage.

They live in sea fan coral which comes in the colours orange, and purple.

The Pygmy seahorse changes colour to either orange, or purple so they can camouflage and hide.

Baby Pygmy seahorses are very different from adults.

They are born brown and change colour when they land on coral.

Pygmy seahorses can't stay out of camouflage for too long because of predators.

Pygmy seahorses have a few predators such as sharks, and bigger fish.

So they must hide to stay alive.

Sadly Pygmy seahorses are losing their habitat due to global warming, and lots of pollution in the ocean.

They need to adapt to survive and that must be very hard, especially with predators roaming around.

Samoa Narrative

One day I was walking on the beach in Samoa watching the waves crash and the fish swimming in the beautiful clear ocean.

Then suddenly a massive coconut hit me in the head knocking me out.

Next thing I knew I woke up on an island far from any other land.

I didn’t know the way back so I made a hut to take shelter in.

By the time I was done building the shelter it was late so I went to sleep.

suddenly I woke up and it was all a dream.

I walked to the living room and no one thought I was gone.

I was glad and lived on.

I realy hoped you enjoyed.

Well, did you?
